I came across this on TED: psychiatrist and Holocaust-survivor Viktor Frankl speaking about our human quest for meaningfulness. He states that most young people want to just make a lot of money. We see where that has gotten the nation. As you watch this, substitute, in your mind, "make a lot of money" with "make a lot of test scores." Is our profession, like our nation, selling its soul in a Race to the Top? The top of what?!
Where is our discussion about a liberal arts education that stresses the core value of which Viktor Frankl speaks?!
