I've come across a number of ways to share pdf documents, but issuu seems to have the slickest idea for presentation that's out there right now. Not only can you share your documents, but you have a variety of options for sharing them. I'm including this example below only to illustrate how an HTML embed looks and works--not to endorse reading this particular PDF.
The service is currently free. (Thought I'd get that in there early on.) Create your own library book shelf. Upload your documents. Choose how to share them. Monitor statistics on their use. Also, notice what happens when you click on the "Open publication" link. The interface is fast, responsive, and very intuitive.
